Outing to the Wey and Arun Canal

10.15 am. Depart from Walton outside P & Q, Terrace Road.
5.30 pm (approx) Arrive back in Walton

The W & A canal runs through 23 miles of picturesque Surrey & Sussex countryside linking the rivers Wey and Arun. It was abandoned in 1871 as commercially unviable, but since 1970 a group of enthusiasts have undertaken the restoration of the canal with the objective of restoring the whole length so that boaters will in future be able to cruise from London to the English Channel.
A 2 hours 45 mins trip on restored canal boat (sorry max 30 people) to see the whole length of the restored section.
Lunch is not included, but meals and refreshment can be obtained at the Onslow Arms, next to the canal, or you may wish to bring a picnic and sit by the canal.
Cost of ticket £16.50 per person.
